After several years as a partner in a larger firm, I founded Foster & Company in 1997 with the goal of providing top-flight service to my defence practice clients in a boutique firm where the platform allows for bespoke and highly efficient client service. We get to know our clients, understand their needs, and develop long-standing relationships built on trust. This philosophy impacts not only how I approach the firm’s litigation, practice, but also my ADR practice. When it comes to being a mediator, I believe it’s important to take the time to understand the matter, the issues, and the parties so that I’m prepared to help you and your client reach a satisfactory resolution in even the most difficult cases. It’s not the process of mediation that drives me, it’s getting tough cases resolved. Results matter, and my ability to resolve difficult cases is sought out by counsel who know that my goal is to get it done.

My primary ADR practice areas include serving as a mediator/arbitrator commercial litigation, personal injury (particularly motor vehicle accidents), insurance (CGL/homeowners/subrogation), professional negligence, and construction claims. I have conducted over 500 mediations throughout my career, and my practice has grown substantially in the last several years to make up the majority of my work. In 2021, 97% of the mediation files I conducted settled at mediation or through my continued efforts in the weeks following.
